Building a Safer Place to Play for the Dogs at Cache Humane Society

Some fence projects hit a little closer to home.

This week, our team at High & Tight Fencing wrapped up a service project with our friends at the Cache Humane Society, where our wonderful team members helped provide a safer outdoor space for the rescue dogs in their care. The project was made possible with the help of Tangent® Materials, who generously donated the fencing materials while our team donated the planning and installation.

For us, it was a chance to work alongside a great partner and give back to an organization that does a lot of good right here in Cache Valley.

More Room to Run, Play, and Learn

Cache Humane Society provides care for homeless and surrendered animals throughout Cache Valley while they wait to find their forever home.

And for dogs spending time in a shelter, having a secure outdoor area is about more than getting outside for a few minutes.

It's a place to run, play fetch, work on training, interact with other dogs, and spend time with volunteers and potential new families.

The Humane Society's existing outdoor area had been affected by the expansion of Highway 30, leaving temporary construction fencing in place. The goal of this project was to replace that temporary setup with a permanent fence and give the dogs significantly more usable outdoor space.

According to Cache Humane Society Executive Director Bri Smith, the new space more than doubles the outdoor area available to shelter dogs.

That extra room will be used for everything from fetch and agility training to weekly play and training sessions with the Humane Society's Junior Volunteer Club. Most importantly, it gives the dogs more opportunities to play, learn, and just be dogs while they're waiting for their forever families.

"Thanks to the generosity of High & Tight Fencing, we have been able to more than double the outdoor space available for our shelter dogs to play.

Our dogs now have room to play fetch, work on agility training, and participate in weekly play and training sessions with our Junior Volunteer Club."

A Community Project Made Possible by Great Partners

This project came together thanks to people and businesses willing to contribute what they do best.

Tangent® Materials donated the fencing materials for the project: a 5-foot-tall TANGENT® Fencing Systems Lexington Series™ fence made from recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Our team at High & Tight Fencing donated the project planning and installation.

Together, we were able to give Cache Humane Society a permanent outdoor space without requiring the organization to direct fundraising dollars and other resources toward a new fence.

This project was was about creating a place where rescue animals could safely run, play, and spend time connecting with the people who may eventually take them home.

Giving Back Here at Home

Cache Valley is home for us. It's where we live, where our team members live, and where we've had the opportunity to build High & Tight Fencing.

Being able to use the skills and resources we already have to help another local organization just made sense.

We're incredibly grateful to Tangent® Materials for stepping up and donating the materials that made the project possible, and to the team at Cache Humane Society for everything they do for animals throughout our community.

We're also proud of our High & Tight install crew for putting the same care into this project that they bring to our customers' properties every day.

Want to Help Cache Humane Society?

You don't have to build a fence to make a difference.

Cache Humane Society relies on support from the community to continue caring for animals throughout Cache Valley. There are opportunities to donate, volunteer, foster, participate in programs, and—of course—give an animal a permanent home through adoption.

If you're looking for a way to get involved locally, we encourage you to learn more about the work they're doing and see how you can help.

We're looking forward to seeing this new space filled with a whole lot of happy dogs. 🐾
